...New LONG TERM...

.SHORT TERM...
(This afternoon through Thursday)
Issued at 1023 AM EST Wed Jan 29 2025

The synoptic scale pattern is characterized by longwave ridging over
central CONUS, and a low-amplitude longwave trough along the eastern
seaboard. A broad ridge of high pressure continues to expand within
the boundary layer, which will be the dominate influence on sensible
weather through the short term period. The lack of deep moisture and
forcing for ascent will favor near-zero rainfall chances today
through Thursday. This high pressure and diminishing of pressure
gradient force will keep light and (sometimes) variable winds over
the CWFA through today and tomorrow.

The warming trend will continue through the middle and end of the
week. Afternoon high temperatures will generally reach the upper 70s
to low 80s, with the warmest temperatures being over the southern-
most interior portions of the peninsula. Overnight low temperatures
will be mild, ranging from the low/mid 50s across interior and
southwest Florida, to the low 60s along the immediate east coast.

&&

.LONG TERM...
(Thursday night through next Tuesday)
Issued at 303 PM EST Wed Jan 29 2025

The high pressure will continue to move further into the Atlantic
waters as the mid-level trough progresses eastward into the
eastern United States. A cold front to move southeastward and
hover across the Florida Peninsula through the weekend. This
frontal boundary will be a dry front with little to no
precipitation. There will be very little moisture available, with
a very weak front, so the weather will remain dry over South
Florida this weekend.

Winds will begin in a southerly direction this weekend before
veering into a east/northeasterly direction late this weekend. This
will result in temperatures warming up slowly into the 80s over most
region this weekend. Lows will be warmer, rising into the 60s over
most areas, with the low 70s in the eastern metro.

To begin the new week, high pressure will build back into the area
from the Atlantic waters, thus keeping the stable and dry weather in
place over South Florida with easterly wind flow. Highs will be in
the 80s over most areas with lows in the mid to upper 60s.

&&

.AVIATION...
(18Z TAFS)
Issued at 1208 PM EST Wed Jan 29 2025

VFR conditions will prevail through the TAF cycle. Winds generally
light and variable, becoming ESE at times, then becoming light/vrb
overnight again.

&&

.MARINE...
Issued at 1023 AM EST Wed Jan 29 2025

Light and variable winds will continue today, gradually becoming
easterly later this week around 10 to 15 kt. Wind will gradually
diminish in magnitude and veer out of the south this weekend,
generally remaining east/southeast through the extended period.
Expect generally benign marine conditions through much of the
period, though seas may be slightly choppy at times Friday over the
Atlantic waters.

&&

.BEACHES...
Issued at 1023 AM EST Wed Jan 29 2025

Light winds will allow for a low risk for rip currents, however late
Thursday into Friday morning, the rip current risk will increase as
winds increase in magnitude and gain an onshore (easterly)
component.
